Here are some of my favorite cleaning products which have a regular home in my kitchen.
I use these items on everything!
1. The Murphy Magic keeps the cats off the counter (water).
2. Sophie Uliano's Veggie Cleaner Spray--
Directions: - 1 cup water
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 20 drops grapefruit seed extract
Combine all ingredients in a large container. Then, transfer to a spray bottle with a pump. Spray mixture on produce, and rinse thoroughly after 5 to 10 minutes.
**Grapefruit seed extract is available at your local health food store. Read about it here (via Pixel Perfect). **
3. Full Strength Vinegar--
- Great for cleaning windows, counters, bathrooms fixtures. It is a great deodorizer and disinfects.
4. Vinegar and Water--
1/2 vinegar, 1/2 water
- Great for same uses as full strength vinegar, just less potent!
- Use baking soda with a little lemon juice, vinegar, or water and it will make your kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, tubs, showers, and toilets SHINE! I love how it shines stainless steel.
- I also fill up a plastic bowl and place it at the bottom of my diaper pail.
6. Bathroom Soap Cleaner
** My tubs ready to be filled**
In a baby wipes container add 1 c vinegar, 1 c water, and several drops of dish soap (I use Kirkland Organic). Add in old rags.
Leave this under your bathroom sink to wash the sinks, toilets and tub. Keep some towels handy for drying I'll often wash down the sinks and toilet while my son is splashing in the tub.
I admit I do have a small stash of cleaning products that I bought next to nothing with coupons (they stay in the garage, and will last a l-o-n-g time)
. I like to keep those on hand for MAJOR messes (easy to have with 2 small children). Also, after a huge bout with colds or flu I run around with the Clorox wipes and clean all doorknobs, remotes, keyboards etc.
The only thing I wish I had a natural recipe for was a toilet cleaner--
Any Suggestions??

Nature's Source has a pretty decent natural toilet cleaner and so does Clorox Green Works, there were coupons for both in last weeks paper, as far as recipes though, I haven't seen any either :)
ReplyDeleteI use vinegar for toilets as well. I pour in about 1 cups worth (give or take - I never measure). I let it sit while I clean the rest of the bathroom and then use the toilet brush on it. I think it works great :-)
ReplyDeleteBon Ami is what I use for toilets... It's been around many years and is non toxic. It sells for about $1 in the grocery store. It's in a container similar to comet and so it shakes right out!
