Square Foot Gardening Update # 12-- June 12

This week we continued to enjoy eating sugar snap peas!

There is a little pumpkin growing (along with signs of many others!)

I see the signs of green bean picking too!

It seems like the lettuce is not getting much bigger, but I don't know when to pick it.  Any ideas??

My pepper plants are getting flowers, but are not growing any taller--is that normal?

How is your garden holding up?

  2. I gave up on our lettuces. I picked some a few weeks ago and it had tiny little wormy looking things on the underside. I figured it was safer to let the rabbits eat it! We also have a little green pepper growing, it's supposed to be yellow, but it kind of stopped growing...not sure what happened...your pumpkins looks so great! Are they the little pumpkin pie varieties or the larger ones for decorations?

  3. I am no expert, but I've noticed my lettuce does best in early spring, in the shade. I also plant again for fall when the temps cool. Could just be luck on my part though. Your garden looks fantastic!
